Free six months earlier to tackle prison overcrowding: six-month sentence reduction approved

In its first reading, the House Judiciary Committee has approved early conditional release for certain detainees, six months before the end of their sentences. The measure is part of a bill by Minister of Justice Vincent Van Quickenborne (Open Vld), which also makes civil marriages legally possible outside the town hall.
