Maximum adventure for our customers, less pollution for the planet
Osprey has been making quality backpacks since 1974 and is not only known for its technical and durable products, but is also making big strides towards sustainability.
From forest trails to mountain peaks, we strive to leave the world better than it was found. We are constantly developing our processes and making sure that we leave as few traces as possible. This includes making products that last, using high quality recycled materials, using better chemicals and providing our comprehensive product guarantee.
The Osprey Comprehensive Product Warranty is a service provided to Osprey customers who wish to have a pack repaired. Sustainably manufactured backpacks are a big step forward for the environment, but we also want our backpacks to last as long as possible. That means maximum adventure for our customers and less pollution for the planet.
How does it work?
Simply put, should you find any defects in your pack’s workmanship, Osprey will repair or replace it free of charge within its reasonable lifetime. While the comprehensive product warranty primarily covers manufacturing defects in the backpack, we will still do everything we can to repair your backpack if damage has occurred through wear and tear or accidental damage. While inventory, color or fabric restrictions may vary from the original, Osprey will do everything possible to get your pack in working condition so you can focus on your next adventure.
In terms of cost, you only pay the shipping cost of sending the pack to Osprey for repair. Repairs to backpacks will then be carried out free of charge (*excluding mechanical repairs to travel backpacks with wheels). We will also cover the cost of sending the package back to you.
What’s next?
With the comprehensive product warranty, Osprey makes great strides to ensure your backpack doesn’t quickly end up in landfill. But even if your current backpack has completed its final journey, Osprey has made sure that your next backpack has less of an impact on the environment.
As a bluesign® system partner, Osprey uses bluesign®-approved and recycled materials that are sent to independent laboratories for testing and adheres to the bluesign® Restricted Substances List [RSL]to keep harmful chemicals out of the environment. In addition, the paper is recycled and FSC-certified, and all polyester bags are made from 100% recycled and recyclable content.
Osprey is dedicated to protecting the planet we all love to explore and is committed to initiatives that give back to people and the planet. The brand supports environmental projects such as the cleanup of Nimsdai Purja’s K2 and funds EOCA conservation projects around the world. Osprey also donates used backpacks to universities and colleges for sustainability projects and creates incentives to reduce waste.
