Pro-Palestinian demonstration at Berlin Central Station: around 150 people gathered at Washingtonplatz on Saturday.

The official motto of the event was “Peace in the Middle East”. Participants chanted “Stop the war.” Speakers from a variety of backgrounds criticized Israel’s actions against targets in the Gaza Strip and the federal government’s support of Israel after the Hamas terrorist attack.

Some Palestinian flags could also be seen, and occasional shouts of “Free Palestine” could be heard.

The demonstrators were predominantly from the left-wing spectrum, and several were waving DKP flags – apparently supporters of the German Communist Party. They also shouted “High international solidarity.” At the same time, someone was playing oriental flute music on the stage.

A banner called for “Peace with Russia,” which is currently waging a war of aggression against Ukraine.

On October 7th, terrorists from Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, carried out a massacre of civilians in Israel, killing around 1,400 people and kidnapping more than 200 people. Since then, Israel’s army has been attacking targets in the Palestinian territory.
