Freddie Mercury’s Rolls Royce under the hammer for Ukraine | War Ukraine and Russia

Mercury bought the 1974 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in 1979, and drove it until his death in 1991 – he himself did not have a driver’s license. Before signing an important contract, Mercury convinced his fellow band members to sit in the car together before signing, says Jim Beach, the group’s manager for many years.

The file that is sold with the car also includes invoices for maintenance, in the name of Mercury.

After his death, the luxury car came into the possession of the Queen singer’s sister, until she sold the car in 2013. At an auction, the car then fetched £74,600, six times more than previously estimated. Out Magazine reported at the time that Ukrainian celebrity Andri Danylko, better known as Vjerka Serdjouchka, bought the car. In 2007 she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for Ukraine.

Danylko has not yet said anything to the public about the auction, but is known as an opponent of the Russian invasion.

The auction will take place on November 5.
