Two directors of the charity foundation Mobility for Everyone (MVI) in Made have resigned after the Public Prosecution Service initiated proceedings to depose them. It concerns founder and director Edwin Kock (51) and his ex-partner Mettie Bakker (38). The Public Prosecution Service had started an investigation into the foundation after Follow The Money revealed that Kock had diverted at least 1.5 million euros. Baker knew about that.
The MVI Foundation supplies buses to healthcare institutions for the transport of clients. Thanks to sponsors and partner companies, they were able to give a hefty discount.
Research showed that founder and director Edwin Kock transferred almost 1.5 million euros to his consultancy company Forian from the beginning of 2018 to April 2020. In September 2020, fellow director Helmer de Vries reported fraud and embezzlement. He had discovered the fraud.
‘Cramped cash’
Board member Mette Bakker also abused the foundation account, but only when she was ‘short on cash’. Although she has since repaid that money, she has ‘seriously neglected her role as a director’. According to the Public Prosecution Service, she was also aware of Kock’s fraud and kept her hand over his head.
New board members
Before the Public Prosecution Service was able to remove the two from the board, they had already taken that step themselves and also looked for two new board members. It is not clear who they are. The Public Prosecution Service agrees with the new board members.
