A 67-year-old man from Annen has become the victim of debit card fraud. Images of the suspect have been released at the ATM on Stationsweg in Zuidlaren.
The fraudster, who posed as a bank employee in December last year, indicated to the man that there may have been something wrong with a transfer that would have been made through his account. The victim was told to transfer money and give his PIN code.
The man’s debit card was collected shortly afterwards and on the same day, an amount of a few thousand euros was withdrawn by the suspect in three transactions at a money mate in Zuidlaren. Another large amount has also been withdrawn from another money measure down the street.
