The Fraud Helpdesk warns against false e-mails that are supposedly sent from MijnOverheid. The emails claim that people are entitled to an additional commitment of hundreds of euros on the energy surcharge, but that is not true.
The email states that people are entitled to the extra commitment due to the financial consequences of the corona pandemic. The link in the email then asks you to enter personal information, but this is a phishing trick.
MijnGovernment does not send emails with a link that has to be clicked. People who receive this e-mail should delete this e-mail immediately. People who have already clicked on the link and have entered details and/or paid, should contact the Fraud Helpdesk.
