Frasers Group increases stake in N Brown and announces share buybacks

The British trading group Frasers Group Plc has acquired further shares in the e-commerce specialist N Brown Group Plc. The company said on Monday that it had increased its stake in the parent company of online fashion retailers JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo from 19.4 to 20.0 percent through acquisitions last week.

The group, which includes the Sports Direct, House of Fraser and Flannels retail chains, joined N Brown in autumn 2022 and has gradually increased its shares since then. As part of its aggressive investment strategy, Frasers Group has also invested in other well-known clothing suppliers such as Hugo Boss, Boohoo and Asos over the past few years.

Over the past few weeks, the expansion-loving group acquired the fashion retailer Zee & Co and the e-commerce platform Matches. He is also reportedly still interested in taking over the insolvent German retail chain SportScheck.

The group also announced a new share buyback program. By the end of the current financial year on April 28, the Frasers Group wants to acquire up to ten million of its own shares for a total price of up to 80 million British pounds (94 million euros).
