Franziska Preuß made an impressive comeback after her break from competition with three victories in three races at the German Biathlon Championships.
After the individual and sprint, the former world champion also won the pursuit in Ruhpolding.
Sophia Schneider came second, just 0.2 seconds behind. Experienced Benedikt Doll had already impressed and confidently won the pursuit of the men.
“It was really great training on the track. I was able to try something tactically and my tactics worked,” said former world champion Preuss, who struggled with health problems in the preseason. “It was a cool weekend, it was good for the mood.”
Benedikt Doll feels like Johannes Thingnes Bö
Despite four shooting errors, Doll crossed the finish line after 12.5 kilometers on roller skis, 53 seconds ahead of Philipp Nawrath and Matthias Dorfer. The day before, Doll had won the sprint.
“It really felt relatively easy,” said the 33-year-old. “The prone shooting annoyed me a bit with the two mistakes. But it’s fun when it goes so well and you can determine the field with your running. I almost felt a bit like Johannes Thingnes Bö.” The Norwegian is considered the dominator of the scene.
