The Frankfurt W-Festival is celebrating its tenth anniversary and will once again give women from across the cultural landscape a stage. The event is scheduled to take place from May 25th to 27th and will feature concerts, readings and a young musicians’ competition.
A special feature of the festival, formerly known as “Women of the World”, is that it focuses exclusively on artists and women from the music and entertainment sectors. The planned performances will take place at various locations in downtown Frankfurt. This year’s acts include Annett Louisan and Zoe Wees.
In addition, another conference entitled “Woman x Power x Future!” is planned. The topics here will revolve around both the future and equal rights for women in the music industry. The speakers at the conference include music journalist Miriam Davoudvandi and former VIVA moderator Minh-Khai Phan-Thi. The festival will conclude with a reading of “From me to you – women’s letters that mean the world” by actress Claudia Michelsen, actor Devid Striesow and Joy Denalane.
