Frank & Rogier received 20,000 euros from PostNL

Frank & Rogier are retroactively one of the saddest duos Dutch TV has ever had. Yet they farmed very well for a while. “We received 20K from PostNL!”

It is one of RTL’s biggest bad buys ever: the TV duo Frank & Rogier. Shortly after Frank Jansen and Rogier Smit switched from SBS 6 to RTL 4 in 2020, they ended up in a marital crisis and started fighting out their marital quarrel in the media in an ordinary way. At the end of 2021 they were knocked out by Peter van der Vorst.

Expensive divorce

It must have been one of the most expensive divorces of the year, because Frank and Rogier could have earned tons of money in television for years to come. Not to mention their squabbles out there.

Frank, the older of the two, thinks that’s a pity. He says in the Party: “I just have to be honest: we could have just continued, because we had a golden formula. We could have made money with commercials and all sorts of other things, and that is very important to him.”

20,000 euros

What kind of amounts are involved in the schnabbel circuit? Dutch celebrities are often silent about it like the grave. Not only because excessive wages annoy the common man, but also because it makes negotiations more difficult and secrecy is usually simply laid down in a contract.

Yet Frank is now opening a book about such a lucrative schnabble. “Just think: we made a Christmas special for PostNL two years ago and we received twenty thousand euros for it. Shooting for a day!”

Lucrative things

What did Frank have to do for that money? “We had to pretend we had started a family, I suddenly had two children thrown into my lap, haha. I really liked it all. Rogier has thrown away all those lucrative things by driving our breakup towards a problem.”

He concludes: “Even as a couple without love, we could have made very nice television. I’m angry about that, because I think it’s stupid. Rogier has smashed his own glasses and with it mine. And that was probably deliberate bullying, because he knows that I really like to make television.”
