Frank Ocean has teased a new song – listen here

Frank Ocean published a one-minute clip on Instagram – but without comment.

Frank Ocean has remained rather quiet in recent years. His still current album BLONDE was released in 2016, and he released the singles “Dear April” and “Cayendo” in an acoustic version in April 2020. The artist has not released any new music since then. Now, however, a social media post indicates a new single.

On November 9th, Ocean shared a one-minute teaser of a previously unknown track on his Instagram story. As usual, the musician’s calm yet expressive singing lies over a reserved melody. A release date – and whether the excerpt is part of a finished song that Frank Ocean even plans to release – is not yet known.

Frank Ocean last headlined the Coachella Festival in April 2023. It was the artist’s first live performance in five years and was therefore eagerly awaited by his fans – but he left them disappointed and even worried. Not only did the concert start too late, it was also abruptly stopped. According to observations, the singer is also said to have felt visibly uncomfortable. Ocean was also scheduled to perform on the second weekend of the Californian festival, but he canceled the show a few days earlier on “medical advice.”

However, the short time the musician spent on the festival stage gave him hope for a new record. He emphasized that the performance was not for promotional purposes, but as a tribute to his late brother, with whom he regularly attended the festival. Still, he added, “Not that there isn’t a new album. But at the moment there is none.”
