Depestele worked for Menen for five seasons and reached the cup final twice, the title final once and the Champions League. He was also coach of the year twice. There is no successor yet, but it could well be Depestele’s current assistant: former player Jelle Sinnesael.
“Frank’s part in our sporting story cannot be underestimated. He was voted ‘coach of the year’ twice. After five years, Frank has now opted for a new challenge. A trainer who will stay with us for five years, is exceptional for our club in any case. And we must cherish that. We wish Frank good luck at his new club (maybe a little less against us) and we have no doubt that he will do everything he can to say goodbye with some stunt victories in the play-offs,” can be read on the Menen Volleyball Club website.
