Frank Dane delivers a spicy sneer to Jeroen van der Boom, the former phone game presenter who has become a Very Big Star. It leads to ‘oh’ shouts in the Radio 538 studio.
Frank Dane’s afternoon show is known for cuddling with artists who are vomited by the masses, such as André Hazes Jr. and Samantha Steenwijk. However, the team is not unanimously enthusiastic about the singing wrecking ball Glennis Grace. Frank is in the slime corner, but sidekick Jelte van der Goot doesn’t like her.
Done with Glennis
Glennis has given an interview to a driving former football player in which she begs for a comeback. Frank in his afternoon show: “Glennis hopes she can draw a line under it and people will book her again for parties and stuff. Who then also think: we are going to call her again.”
Jelte critical: “I really wouldn’t feel like doing that.”
Frank: “Wouldn’t you like to watch a performance by Glennis Grace? Are you done with it?”
Nasty aftertaste
Jelte: “Not anymore. Suppose you are going to throw a party and you can invite an artist for whom you pay a lot of money, then I would not book Glennis Grace for the time being.”
Frank: “I try to separate that a bit. What someone does and… Private and work can still be separated a bit.”
Yes, as a brother of Robert Jensen you must indeed have excelled in that.
Jelte: “But if I were to organize a party myself, then you can simply choose from so many artists when you spend money that you think: not anymore, right? Still a nasty aftertaste.”
“Who would you ask?”
Airen Mylene: “Yes, but she’s really good, isn’t she? So yeah, you know. And she has done penance.”
Frank: “I actually think so too, yes. Cross under and through again. Who would you actually invite to a party?”
Jelte: “Yes, I don’t know, but you have so many artists, don’t you? A Jeroen van der Boom, an André Hazes, I know a lot.”
Frank and Airen surprised in unison: “Jeroen van der Boom?!”
Jelte: “I don’t know. You can ask all kinds of artists for a party, right? You have a hundred in the Netherlands.”
Sneak at Jeroen
Then Frank hands out a spicy sneer to Jeroen. “I think it’s a nice fantasy of: who would you ask? Well, Jeroen van der Boom? Then I would think with all those artists you can invite: are you doing Jeroen van der Bóóm?!”
It leads to “oh” shouts and snickers in the studio. Who would Frank invite? “Hazes!”
Sigh. Just a little while and Frank’s arm will come out of André’s throat again.
