Frank Dane is annoyed with celebrities who pretend to be very close friends after the death of Tina Turner. And that is of course a straight sneer at Samantha Steenwijk.
When a world star dies, you can wait for it: celebrities who tumble over each other to shout how great they thought he or she was. Better yet? A photo with that world star in question! Samantha Steenwijk takes this tradition to the next level after the passing of Tina Turner.
With Tina on stage
Samantha posted a hugely dramatic Insta post with a photo of her singing on stage next to Tina. huh?! Has the singing horsewoman ever managed to sing a duet with this absolute icon? That’s actually quite impressive. “For ages I have been so afraid of this day,” it says.
Of course, it’s very convenient for Samantha that two years ago no dog watched her episode of Impossible Duets, in which she “dueted” with Tina. The makers of the program had mounted her in images next to Tina. And that makes it seem to her Insta followers that she once really sang with Tina.
‘Good luck, Samantha’
It is exploited to the maximum by Samantha. She writes: “This hits me so deep in my heart, I am broken, so unreal 💔. Thank you for all the strength I was able to get out of you, on stage and off stage, you are a HEROESE!”
Samantha’s followers sympathize en masse… With Samantha. “Ahhhhh, your great singing example. Good luck honey. I know you were/are a huge fan. She was a winner!” says someone.
Another: “Blessings and condolences to your friend, may she rest in peace ✌️ 🥀.”
Frank critical
Radio 538 star Frank Dane really can’t stand this. “I just want to apologize for not posting a picture of Tina Turner on Instagram with ‘rest in peace’ underneath, because I didn’t see anyone doing that! Why doesn’t anyone do that?”, he says full of cynicism in his afternoon show.
Then stimulated: “I always find that a bit difficult. Then a world star dies and then everyone in the industry in Hilversum pretends they were friends with Tina Turner. Sometimes that is so natural, but there are not many.”
Well, Samantha certainly isn’t one of them.
Pissed off?
Although Frank never mentions Samantha’s name, his comment is of course 100 percent related to her post. And she won’t be able to appreciate that critical note.
Samantha is attached to Frank’s radio show as a joke teller. See if we ever get to hear her thigh talk again. Earlier she also left RTL Boulevard after a critical note about her was cracked.
