They had never been to New York before, but in 2017 a strong desire to have children led Frank Pinxten and Willy Hendrikx, then 46 and 76 years old, from Limburg to America. Today their daughter Antje is almost five years old and “the most beautiful thing that has ever happened in our lives”. Antje was born from surrogacy, which more gay couples opt for. The government stands by and doesn’t know what to do. “It is time for a legal framework.”
