A 16-year-old cyclist was killed on Monday evening after a collision in Temse. Francis Aerts was on his way to his father in Haasdonk when disaster struck. The driver fled after the accident, but slammed into a lighting pole a few kilometers away. He also tried to flee after that collision. The perpetrator, a 33-year-old man from Sint-Niklaas, was caught and tested positive for the use of alcohol and drugs. Francis’ family describes him as “a very sweet, good and friendly boy”.
