France extends the lifespan of nuclear power plant to 50 years for the first time

The French Nuclear Safety Authority ASN has given the green light for a lifetime extension of one of the first French nuclear power plants to 50 years. The French Minister for Energy Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher reported this on Monday. Tricastin 1 will be the first reactor with a lifespan of more than 40 years.
