The Foxes are facing a difficult away game in the Handball Bundesliga. On Sunday, the Berliners have to compete at MT Melsungen (2 p.m.).
“In nominal terms, they actually have a very strong squad. They have a top international player in every position. But they haven’t really started the season in a great way,” said the coach Jaron Siewert.
While the foxes have plenty of staff to draw from, Melsungen are already plagued by injuries again. The fact that the Hessians have so far fallen short of their expectations makes them all the more dangerous for the Foxes coach.
“They have great individual players”
“They’re already under pressure and need to score. And they have great single players. And when they get the rhythm together, they are extremely dangerous,” said Siewert.
That’s why the coach expects another top performance from his team. “We have to use our strengths against it,” he demanded. Above all, the focus has to be right. Because the foxes recently had ten days without a game – unusually long. “It’s also a big risk. The loss of concentration is of course present after a game. Then you have to build up the suspense again, which of course is much easier in a three-day rhythm,” said Siewert.
The foxes used the free time for fine-tuning in training – especially in the offensive game. “We already have a good attacking performance, but we want to be a bit more flexible there and play more fluently. That we are not so dependent on one-on-one,” reported the foxes coach.
