He ran, plowed, led the way and was the best man on the floor with seven goals. Nevertheless, Füchse captain Paul Drux (28) could not prevent the narrow cup defeat in Flensburg (32:34).

Drux, who traveled to Flensburg despite the baby alarm (his wife Linda is about to give birth): “I’m proud of the team. This was a real fighting game. We showed what we’re made of. Maybe there was a lack of strength at the end. It’s a shame, we had our chances despite the injuries and battered players.”

The first goal of the season was missed. Coach Jaron Siewert (28) therefore specifies the next goals: “We have to tick that off as soon as possible, get it out of our heads and now focus fully on the league and the European League.”

The foxes continue on Sunday in the HBL in Leipzig.
