The Füchse Berlin remain hot on the heels of the leading trio of the Handball Bundesliga.
On Saturday evening, in front of 7226 spectators in the Max-Schmeling-Halle, the Berliners clearly won against SC DHfK Leipzig with 34:25 (17:12). The foxes remain fourth, but now tied on points with the third from Flensburg. Best Berlin throwers were Milos Vujovic with eight goals and Mijajlo Marsenic with seven goals.
For the injured veteran Igor Vori, the 20-year-old Jann Keno Jacobs, who is otherwise active in the second team, was allowed to play. The Berliners started right away with a good cover work and all scored their first goals through fast counterattacks. After a 4-0 lead, the guests woke up.
The foxes were able to keep their lead because they were very committed in defense and kept finding solutions in attack – often through the circle or the outside positions. In addition, keeper Dejan Milosavljev made six saves. At times the lead grew to six goals (16:10).
As at the beginning of the game, the foxes came out of the half-time break with a lot of speed. With a 7:1 run, they overran Leipzig, the lead was double digits for the first time (24:13). Again and again, the hosts punished the ball losses of Leipzig. So the one-sided game was decided early. In the last ten minutes, the foxes made a lot of changes and victory was never in danger.
