Foxes Berlin have won their third European League game. At HC Eurofarm Pelister in Bitola, North Macedonia, the current leaders of the Handball Bundesliga (HBL) clearly won 43:34 (22:14) on Tuesday evening.
The top scorer in Berlin was Milos Vujovic with eight goals.
In the well-filled arena in Bitola, the Berliners needed some time to acclimatize. Coach Jaron Siewert’s team took the lead for the first time in the eighth minute when left winger Vujovic scored to make it 4:3.
After a quarter of an hour the lead had grown to three goals (9:6), which was not least due to goalkeeper Viktor Kireev’s convincing performance. The Russian goalkeeper was preferred to Lasse Ludwig, first-choice goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev was rested.
Although Siewert made a lot of changes and distributed the game times as well as possible, the foxes were able to consistently demonstrate their superiority. It was Vujovic, among others, who was successful with counterattacks.
With a plus of eight goals, the Berliners could have relaxed in the second half, but did not let up. Already in the 32nd minute the lead was extended to ten goals – the rest was routine.
