On March 4, 2019, Keith Flint committed suicide. To mark the fourth anniversary of his death, remaining The Prodigy members Liam Howlett and Keith Palmer aka Maxim dedicated an Instagram post to him. They showed several photos of the deceased and wrote: Even if he is not with them physically, he still accompanies them spiritually. His energy is woven into their music: “alive, breathing, snarling deep inside the beats, bass and heart of the band”.

In 2022, the group’s first tour took place without their energetic leader. It was dedicated to him and another step in the band’s effort to keep his memory alive. Back in September 2020, Howlett and Maxim had reportedly returned to the studio. They probably continued to work there on already started projects and an album in Flint’s honor. In 2021, a short snippet of these recordings could be heard for the first time.

A few months later it became public that a documentary about the band’s history was in the works. However, release dates are not yet known for the record or for this filmic exploration of the background of the electropunk pioneers.

In 2023, The Prodigy will be headlining the Download Germany Festival at the Hockenheimring.
