Four-time overall winner Christopher Froome will miss the 110th Tour de France (July 1-23).
The 38-year-old Briton, whose contract expires at the end of the season, did not make it into the eight-man squad for his Israel-Premier Tech team. The versatile team is led by Canadian Michael Woods. Israel-Premier Tech’s goal is stage wins.
After a fall while in shape
Froome fell badly in June 2019 just before the Tour de France. Since then, the native Kenyan has never returned to his old level of performance. His last major national tour so far was the Vuelta in Spain in 2022.
