Around 200 guests had gathered for the prayer in the open air in front of the small church of the evangelical care facility. Also Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (60, SPD) and Potsdam’s Mayor Mike Schubert (49, SPD).
The residents of the Tusnelda von Saldern house had come. On April 28, 2021, nursing assistant Ines R. (52) murdered four helpless, severely disabled people (31 to 56 years) in her house. Three of them were partially paralyzed and one was completely paralyzed. Another resident (43) survived the knife attack with serious injuries.

Ines R. was sentenced to 15 years for murder in December and committed to psychiatry. But their actions have an impact.
Prime Minister Woidke spoke of the struggle for words of comfort, saying: “Where were all those who had promised to take responsibility for us and protect us at the moment?”
The four rainbow-colored glass steles bear the names of the victims. According to Pastor Matthias Nurse, a resident photographed a rainbow over the house after the crime. Residents and staff took it as a sign of hope.
