Four people in their twenties arrested for defrauding an 86-year-old woman from Den Helder

In Den Helder, four people in their twenties – from Alkmaar, Egmond and Amsterdam – were arrested yesterday who tried to pay with a stolen bank card. The 86-year-old victim had given her card and PIN to someone at the door after being told by phone that an attempt was made to steal money from her account.

It turned out to be people who tried to deceive the woman by posing as bank employees. After the Helderse gave her pass and code to someone, she started to have doubts and called her daughter. He immediately called the police.

Last night – so the same day – four people could be arrested on Nieuweweg in Den Helder after they tried to pay with the stolen card. They are four people in their twenties, a 21-year-old woman from Alkmaar, a 21-year-old woman from Egmond and two men, aged 21 and 25, from Amsterdam. They will be presented to the examining magistrate on Friday.
