Four cars went up in flames on Ridderstraat in Tilburg on Friday night. A fifth car was slightly damaged.
According to a local resident, the car fires were discovered around 5 am. He suspects arson.
Someone would have run away towards Vazalstraat.
Damage to houses
The fire brigade deployed large equipment to fight the fire. “The fire was so intense that the flames reached above the gutters of the houses,” said a 112 correspondent. The windows of two houses burst due to the heat.
Several residents were woken from their sleep by other local residents. They were standing on the street in night clothes. The residents reacted very upset.
More car fires
In Tilburg, five car fires have already been reported to the fire brigade in the past thirty days, including on Generaal Barberstraat, Gracht, Ringbaan Zuid and Juralaan.
The police are investigating. No one has been arrested yet.
