Four Noordenveld councilors wave goodbye with a ribbon

The municipality of Noordenveld said goodbye to ten councilors this evening during a special council meeting. Four of them received a royal decoration for their 12 years in the Noordenveld council.

Gerard Willenborg (CDA), Henk Koekkoek (Lijst Groen Noordenveld), Wietze de Wind (PvdA) and Gerbrant Fennema (D66) received this honor. All four served exactly three full council terms in Roden town hall.

Characteristics

Mayor Klaas Smid addressed the various councilors. He praised Wietze de Wind for his ‘red heart’, joked about Gerbrant Fennema’s shorts, called the philosophical Gerard Willenborg a ‘sphinx in Noordenveld’ and characterized Henk Koekkoek as ‘activist and full of political cleverness’.

Ensink and Ten Hoor may still be on the council

We also said goodbye to Jan ten Hoor, Jarco Westerhof and Jeroen Kruims (all Municipal Interests), Pascalle de Vries, Tiemen Ensink (PvdA) and Harm Holman (CDA).

Tiemen Ensink may return to the council if PvdA party leader Alex Wekema becomes alderman again. The same applies to Jan ten Hoor of Municipal Interests. He was eleventh on the IC list. They won ten seats and provided at least one alderman, which means that Ten Hoor will almost certainly return.
