On Friday and Saturday, drivers already had to be patient to drive out of the car parks, but yesterday the waiting times ran out, Jeffrey tells RTL Info. “We were at the car at 5:05 PM. We were only able to leave the meadow around 9 pm. It was catastrophic. There were people fighting because they couldn’t take it any longer,” said the Formula 1 enthusiast.
Quentin was also blocked in a parking lot from 5 pm to 9 pm, as was another visitor who spews his bile on the French-language news website. Bruno speaks of “the Francorchamps scandal”. “It took four hours to get out of the parking lot. We were in the same place all the time.”
It is not clear exactly where things went wrong yesterday. RTL Info does point out that it was a mass of people who tried to drive out of the parking lot at the same time. Last year it was also chaos on the car parks near the circuit. Heavy rain was the bummer at the time: parking lots turned into mud puddles, so cars couldn’t get away without help.
