Geiger is 1.3 points short of third place – “Made fun”
As the best German, Geiger was only 1.3 points short of qualifying third Daniel Andre Tande from Norway with 127.3 points. The man from Oberstdorf was correspondingly satisfied:
“It was fun. I think both jumps were really good. I’m really satisfied. I’m glad we’re here and that we’ll have a competition afterwards.”said the tour sixth in the sports show. In the knockout duels he now has to play against the Russian Yevgeny Klimov. “After two great flights – that would be cool”That was the wish of the overall second place in the world cup for jumping.
Eisenbichler: “Not entirely satisfied”
Eisenbichler, who now has to play against old Swiss star Simon Ammann in his knockout duel, looked self-critically at his sixth place: “I’m not entirely satisfied. The qualification wasn’t ideal. I can’t get away from the table perfectly, then unfortunately I have to intervene and then I don’t run out easily. But in principle it works“, said the Siegsdorf in the sport show.
Regarding the conditions, he explained: “The conditions have been okay so far, the track was okay too. What happens in the air happens.”
Welllinger: “I’m pretty happy”
His best jump of the tour so far showed Andreas Wellinger, who qualified seventh for the knockout duels of the Top 50. At 129 meters he sat down in front.
About the weather and its placement Wellinger said in the sports show: “I had a good feeling when I jumped, because fog usually means that there is thick air and at least no tail wind. I’m pretty happy with my jump.”
Friend strong twelfth
Severin Freund continued his upward trend in Bischofshofen after a rather worse competition in Garmisch. Freund, with a low starting number, had to leave the hill in the first half of the field of jumpers, spent a long time with 125.5 meters in the Leaders Box of the front runner – and ultimately qualified twelfth.
Leyhe, Paschke, Schmid qualified
Stephan Leyhe (127 meters), Pius Paschke (127 meters), Constantin Schmid (126 meters) as 24th, 27th and 29th are also in the final in the afternoon. There is even a German duel between Leyhe and Paschke.
Horngacher: “Not the best jumps yet”
National coach Stefan Horngacher was satisfied after the performance of his jumpers and the qualification of his seven jumpers: “It was a good qualification”, said the Austrian in the sports show: “They weren’t the best jumps yet. We have the guideline that we jump in. The conditions are changeable with the snow, so you have to be prepared. The jumps were okay so far. The technical tasks remain the same afterwards. It was now not the perfect jump yet. But that’s a good thing. I prefer that you make the best jumps in competition. “
