Several players from Eintracht Frankfurt are currently playing on the big football stage. With good performances at the World Cup in Qatar, many a player could maneuver himself into the shop window. An SGE professional has apparently already aroused interest from the English Premier League. The Hessians could wave a lot of money.
Midfielder Djibril Sow is still tied at Eintracht Frankfurt until 2024, but an imminent change now seems possible. As reported by the “fussballtransfers” portal, four clubs from the Premier League asked the SGE about the Swiss. The quartet wanted to find out whether an agreement might be possible in winter.
Born in Zurich, he came from the Young Boys from Bern to the reigning Europa League winners for ten million euros in 2019. Under head coach Oliver Glasner, Sow is a central midfielder, making 24 appearances in 2022/23 alone. Should the Swiss national player say goodbye in the middle of the season, Eintracht Frankfurt would therefore lose an important regular player.
Financially, however, a transfer for the Eagles could be worthwhile. Premier League promoted Nottingham Forest is said to have approached the Hessians last summer with an offer of up to 25 million euros. In any case, a farewell should only be a matter of time, it is said.
According to “Sport1”, however, Djibril Sow has an exit clause in his working paper at Eintracht Frankfurt that is even higher. Accordingly, an interested club must put 35 million euros on the table to release the Swiss international from the contract.
As a midfield puller, Sow played a key role in winning the Europa League last season. In addition, he “also developed as a personality,” praised his trainer Oliver Glasner.
