Four dead in accident just across the border in the Netherlands | News

Four people were killed in a serious traffic accident in the Dutch town of Oud Gastel, about 10 kilometers from the Belgian border. The victims are two adult women and two young children. A third child is in hospital. Two cars collided in an industrial area. The police have arrested one of the drivers.

The accident happened at the Blauwhekken, near Roosendaal, near a business park near traffic lights. There were three people in the driver’s car. The two occupants were taken to the police station as witnesses. In the other car were five people from Bosschenhoofd, including the fatalities.

About eight ambulances, the police and the fire brigade were present. Two trauma helicopters also landed near the Blauwhekken. The report of the accident came in to police around 6:25 p.m.

It is still unknown how the vehicles could collide with each other. The road will remain closed for the time being for investigation. Traffic specialists will need hours for this. The police hear witnesses and arrange victim assistance for them.
