Four days ended with Last Post

It was closed this afternoon under the Menin Gate in Ypres, with a special Last Post, exceptionally at 3.30 pm and not at 8 pm as usual. Everyone has their own reason for participating. Jef Verstraete, Director of the Four Days Marches of the Yser: “I think it’s all very personal. I think it’s to be able to move, the sport, the challenge. But also the ambiance, the mutual atmosphere among the walkers. Discovering new places in the Westhoek and on the coast. Perhaps together with the military. The citizens appreciate that we soldiers are present and we can practice hiking together.”
