Founder resigns as CEO

Umar Kamani, who founded PrettyLittleThing twelve years ago, is stepping down from his position as CEO.

Kamani shared this “difficult decision” in an Instagram post on Sunday. In it he writes that he has reached a point in his life where he wants to set new challenges and goals and build new brands.

Fast fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing is owned by British clothing retailer Boohoo Group Plc. He secured a majority stake of 66 percent in 2017 and took over the remaining 34 percent in 2020 from Kamani and Paul Papworth, Chief Operating Officer at PrettyLittleThing. Boohoo was co-founded by Mahmud Kamani, the father of Umar Kamani, who is still with the company as Chairman.
