Wim Dam (80) today received a royal decoration from mayor Eric van Oosterhout. Dam played an important role in the establishment of the Sola Scriptura foundation (publisher of Reformed books) and the first Evangelische Boekwinkel in Emmen. He was also chairman and treasurer of the foundation for many years.
During the 35th anniversary party in the building of the Christian community of Hebron in Emmen, he said goodbye as chairman. During the farewell he was surprised with the ribbon.
Dam has been chairman of the Sola Scriptura foundation since 1987. He also played a role in the establishment of this foundation. When the vacancy for treasurer was not filled, Dam took on this task. In addition to setting up the Evangelische Boekwinkel, he also managed a team of volunteers and helped build up the stock of books.
He was also involved in balancing and processing for more than 30 years. He manually counted every card, all bibles, books, CDs and gift items one by one. In addition, he did not turn his hand to a renovation of the store and repairs to it.
