Eindhoven resident Seyed K. (62), who shot 34-year-old Fouad Rashidi in his car in 2018, has to go to prison for 14.5 years. The court in Den Bosch determined that on Wednesday, after the judge had already imposed him for 15 years. The court again found that maximum sentence appropriate, but gave K. a 6-month sentence reduction, because the handling of the case would have taken too long.
Rashidi was shot dead on September 8, 2018 in a car in the Sionstraat in Eindhoven. The martial artist was behind the wheel when he was hit five times in the head.
Thanks to several witnesses, K. was soon arrested. The two appeared to be known to each other. Rashidi had an office in K.’s business premises, which sold cars.
In 2019, the Public Prosecution Service asked for a prison sentence of 13 years, but the judges gave fifteen years. The sentence was higher because the liquidation took place in broad daylight and in the vicinity of several children. K. thus took the risk that he would also hit bystanders.
K. himself denied being the shooter and decided to appeal. Yet, apart from the six-month sentence reduction, nothing has changed in the earlier judgment.
