About 60 Ukrainians and 40 asylum seekers from other countries arrive in Berlin every day. BZ editor Hildburg Bruns on the Senate’s plans to accommodate refugee children in an emergency school.
Berlin’s governor Kai Wegner speaks of a reality check. The entire Senate must shoulder the accommodation and integration of refugees. He certainly also has in mind how only CDU Social Senator Mario Czaja was slapped down in 2016 for the queues of freezing refugees in front of the Lageso.

About 60 Ukrainians and 40 asylum seekers from other countries arrive in Berlin every day. Spot checks and veiled manhunts for smugglers instead of stationary controls like in Bavaria?
The numbers will tell in the coming months.
