Kownacki gone, Karbownik gone, Hennigs gone…Tanaka maybe gone, Klarer probably gone. They have already lost 44 scorers (without income) and now there seems to be a significant loss of quality in midfield and the defensive center. In the context of the blatant competition for the top third, it is certainly not the worst idea to make this change now and not a year later.
Can someone from Düsseldorf tell me what your goals are or are likely to be for the coming season?
If you finish 4th, there is actually only one logical goal, which is promotion. I don’t think that will be communicated, but internally it will certainly be considered a goal due to the strong competition.
I’ll go through each player for a moment:
Kownacki: Definitely a very big loss that probably cannot be replaced
Karbownik: he was only convincing for half the season, more so in the second half of the season, but he was really strong there. Definitely a loss too, players like that are rare. But who knows, maybe we could buy him with the Tanaka money…
Hennings: It’s more of a loss of identification and leadership, he was good on the pitch but not so good that he couldn’t be replaced.
Klarer: certainly a strong player, probably our best IV. However, we have some good players there. It would also be a loss, but I think you could make up for it halfway. Let’s see if he goes.
Now to Tanaka: He never really convinced me personally. I honestly don’t know what should qualify him for the 1st league. A sympathetic player with a lot of charisma, but I think he is absolutely replaceable. He wasn’t bad, but he was far from a marksman. If he stayed, I would have believed he would have the final breakthrough in the coming season. Based on his performance so far, 3 million or more would be very interesting in my opinion.
In addition, Peterson will probably go, but he could easily be replaced.
Ultimately, one can say that the departures weigh heavily and it all depends on the possible newcomers. It has to be delivered, that’s for sure.
Edit: Peterson change fixed.
