Fortuna Düsseldorf signs Karol Niemczycki from Cracovia

Second division side Fortuna Düsseldorf have announced their third new signing: Goalkeeper Karol Niemczycki comes on a free transfer from Polish first division side Cracovia, the club did not provide any information on the contract period. The 1.90 meter goalkeeper is supposed to close the gap between the posts after Raphael Wolf’s departure and will be given the number one shirt.

“In Karol we are getting a talented goalkeeper who has consistently demonstrated his qualities at a high level over the past few years. He is passionate about the task at Fortuna and thanks to his skills will significantly increase the quality within our goalkeeper group,” said sporting director Christian Weber.

Niemczycki himself said about his move: “Those responsible at Fortuna tried very hard for me and the discussions were good. Fortuna is an ambitious and large club. I want to help achieve the club’s goals. I’m looking forward to the many fans here in the stadium!”
