Fortuna Düsseldorf has presented the first new signing: Benjamin Böckle comes from FC Liefering on a free transfer. On his 20th birthday, the left-back signed a contract with the second division team until 2025. Böckle, who was trained in the Salzburg youth team, played a total of 27 games (one goal) for Liefering in two seasons.
“In Benjamin we have signed a very talented player who still has great development potential. He has already taken his first steps in seniors and has been able to demonstrate his qualities at a higher level,” said sporting director Christian Weber.
Böckle added: “With the first contact, the people in charge immediately gave me a great feeling. Fortuna is a great club with wonderful fans and I’m really looking forward to the task and the next three years. I’m sure that I can develop very well here under coach Daniel Thioune.”
