Fortuna Düsseldorf lets fans into the stadium for free – sponsors help

Several games from 2023/24

Fortuna Düsseldorf wants to let its fans into the MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA free of charge in the future. Corresponding reports from a staff meeting on Tuesday can confirm Transfermarkt. Including the “Rheinische Post” and the “Picture‘ already reported on it. The “Fortuna for everyone” concept is to be officially presented at a press conference on Wednesday.

The revolutionary ticket policy should apply to all fans who want to visit Fortuna Düsseldorf home games from 2023/24. This is made possible by close cooperation with several regional sponsors. Contracts with a bank, an insurance company and a tech company, among others, have been signed for a period of five years in order to make up for the future lack of ticket income. According to reports, the sponsorship income does not yet cover all the costs incurred, which is why not all games of the coming season can be offered free of charge – initially three. However, talks to make this possible are ongoing.

On average, around 29,500 fans come to Fortuna’s home games this season, with a total capacity of 54,600. This is one of the highest average attendances of a second division club in the world, but with free tickets the rush will logically be higher and the stadium will probably be sold out. F95 members and season ticket holders should have priority in the auditions in the coming season when applying for places.
