Despite the good start in the 2nd Bundesliga and a contract that appears to be expiring, Fortuna Düsseldorf initially does not want to hold any contract talks with coach Daniel Thioune.
His whereabouts are virtually secured by a clause. According to information from the “Rheinische Post”, the contract will be automatically extended if Fortuna achieves at least ninth place this season. Sports director Klaus Allofs indirectly confirmed this to the newspaper.
“We know how things will continue, Daniel is not on the market, we have secured that with the clause,” said Allofs. You always talk, but: “We let everything come to us in the knowledge that everything has been clarified first.”
Basically, Allofs is very satisfied with the former HSV coach, who has been in office since February and currently has the best point average that a Fortuna coach has ever had.
“We still want to take a lot of steps together. That’s the plan,” said Allofs: “We are convinced of each other, there should be no doubt about that. We’re both ambitious. We’re looking forward to what’s to come.”
