Epic Games, which developed the mega-popular Fortnite game, has taken action against Russia. The game studio has announced that it will block Russian racing players from participating in the Fortnite game.

Epic Games says in its bulletin added Russia on March 11 to the list of countries where players are not eligible to win prizes in Fortnite competitive tournaments.

– Players living in Russia can still earn in-game cosmetic prizes, Epic Games says.

Epic Games says Russian Fortnite players will have to redeem their cash prizes by March 22 or they will be suspended.

Minecraft disappeared from app stores

According to several news sources, the Minecraft game has disappeared from the Apple App Store as well as the Google Play app store in Russia.

Microsoft said a week ago that it would suspend all sales of Microsoft products and services in Russia. Minecraft is currently owned by Microsoft, so it is possible that the disappearance of the game from app stores in Russia is related to an earlier announcement.

Other major players in the gaming world have also announced restrictions against Russia. Electronic Arts, for example, announced it would pull all Russian teams out of its Fifa and NHL games. Dice again announced after withdrawing from his Battlefield 2042 game with a Russian-colored aircraft.

On the racing side, Russian teams have also been kicked out of various tournaments.
