Forties injured after stabbing in Ostend

The facts took place around four o’clock Monday afternoon in the vicinity of the Langestraat and the Platformstraat. At least two people were involved in the incident, according to police. A 40-year-old man from Nieuwpoort was injured and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

The perpetrator is said to have fled, but the police are not making any statements about that for the time being. “At the moment no further information can be released about the condition of the victim and the identity of the suspect. The Ostend police and the West Flanders public prosecutor’s office are conducting further intensive investigations into the incident,” said police spokesman Timmy Van Assche.
