Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has reacted to Italian media reports in which his work is criticized and speculated about his and the future of employees.

He himself could “manage” the criticism, but she was “simply disrespectful to his employees and their families, said the Frenchman. Above all, the goal seems to him to be a veiling: “I don’t see any sense in this? But I don’t see any sense in that. But maybe it is the only reason for her.”

Vasseur has headed the fortunes of Formula 1 at probably the most legendary racing team and is therefore familiar with the emotional press in Italy. Nevertheless, he didn’t hold his anger back. With “this type of journalist” Ferrari could not “win a championship,” he said, but emphasized that it was only “some”.

The reason for criticism and speculation is Ferraris so far mixed season. The Scuderia is in second place in the team World Cup after nine races, but appearance is deceptive. After Ferrari in 2024 was second in the McLaren World Cup with only 14 points behind McLaren, 197 points are already missing on the World Championship racing team after a good third of the season.

Nevertheless, record world champion Lewis Hamilton and team -mate Charles Leclerc confirmed their love for Ferrari on Thursday.

In addition, Vasseur, whose contract runs at the end of the season, has an explanation for the somewhat bumpy course of the season. His team had “a few experiences with which we had problems, and here we have to improve clearly,” he said, and among other things addressed the double display in China. But the goal is clear: “To be in first place, but I think we have improved since the beginning of the season”.

At the Grand Prix of Canada on Sunday (8:00 p.m./ Live with RTL and Sky), Ferrari has the chance to demonstrate this again. But the first free training did not go according to plan for Leclerc. After an accident, he could not take part in the second Friday session, said Vasseur.

After all his resentment, he still had a joke on his lips. When asked about his cameo role in the new Formula 1 film (official theatrical release in Germany: June 25), he said: “I’m looking for a new job.”
