Formula 1 | These records are still waiting for world champion Verstappen

This ongoing Formula 1 season resembles an impressive show of force by Max Verstappen. The Dutchman has long since clinched his second world championship title and has already won an outstanding twelve out of 18 races this year. But Verstappen hasn’t had enough, wants to celebrate more victories and set new records on the four remaining race weekends.

If the 24-year-old also triumphs at the US Grand Prix in Austin next weekend, the Red Bull superstar would claim his 13th victory in an F1 season. That would break the incredible records set by Michael Schumacher in 2004 and Sebastian Vettel in 2013.

Although Schumi only had 18 races in his sixth world championship 18 years ago and Vettel in his fourth world championship nine years ago only 19 races instead of the 22 this year at Verstappen, the Red Bull driver is undoubtedly driving in the current season own spheres.

It’s not the only all-time record yet to be broken by the current F1 dominator this year.

Max Verstappen can also easily surpass the previous points record within one season in 2022. Lewis Hamilton scored an impressive 413 World Championship points in his superior 2019 season.

Vettel’s record lead from 2013 is shaking

This year, Verstappen can still score an incredible 478 points with four races to go, as he already has 366 points four races plus a sprint race before the end of the season. And that despite the fact that, as is well known, he had actually retired from two of the first three races of the season.

In addition, the Dutchman can still manage to get the biggest lead of all time. This record is currently still in the hands of Sebastian Vettel, who became world champion in 2013 with a lead of 155 points over Fernando Alonso.

Verstappen is currently 113 points ahead of his teammate Sergio Pérez in the drivers’ standings – so this record is also shaky.

The Formula 1 world champion has held the all-time record for the most podium places in one season since last year at the age of 18. If Verstappen finishes in the top three in each of the last four races, he could set this record.
