Formula 1: Silverstone’s traditional race remains on the racing calendar

More and more new races are displacing long-established race tracks from the Formula 1 calendar. However, a traditional race remains.

Formula 1 will race at Silverstone until the end of 2034. The race organizer and the premier motorsport class announced a ten-year contract extension for the British Grand Prix. The previous agreement would have expired at the end of the year.

Formula 1 managing director Stefano Domenicali said: “Silverstone is an icon in the history of Formula 1 and continues to attract fans from all over the world in its ninth decade of existence as a Grand Prix venue.”

The first Formula 1 race was held on the race track between London and Birmingham in 1950. Last year, Silverstone recorded a record 480,000 visitors over the entire Grand Prix weekend. This season the British Grand Prix takes place on July 7th.
