Formula 1 star Lando Norris has been robbed for the second time in two years. As the McLaren driver explained in Spielberg, his luxury villa, which he shared with a few friends, was broken into during his vacation in Marbella.
“We went out to eat and our house was robbed. Some things were stolen. Some were expensive, others less expensive. The investigations are still ongoing, so I can’t say too much about it,” said Norris on the sidelines of the Austrian Grand Prix, when he was asked about the burglary.
The McLaren driver made the headlines two years ago for a very similar reason. Back then, after the European Football Championship final between England and Italy, his outrageously expensive luxury watch was torn from his arm on the way to his car. It later emerged that the Richard Mille model was worth around 170,000 euros. The thieves were not caught.
Vettel and Leclerc also robbed
Lando Norris is not the only Formula 1 star who has been the victim of a crime in the recent past. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc was also robbed not long ago. When he bumped into a few fans in the Ligurian coastal town of Viareggio and asked for autographs, his watch was also stolen. The Monegasque explained at the time that he hadn’t noticed anything about the theft.
Ex-Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel was the victim of a robbery just a few months ago. At the end of May 2022, a thief stole the Heppenheimer’s bag from his car. Vettel used his phone to locate his headphones, which were in the backpack, and went in search of the culprit himself on an e-scooter.
The thief disposed of the headphones in a flower pot, where Vettel found them thanks to the GPS signal. The German, on the other hand, had to reapply for his identity card, driving license and insurance card.
