Formula 1 | Revealed: That’s how much Hamilton and Russell collect

Lewis Hamilton continues to sit in the Mercedes even at an advanced age as a racing driver in Formula 1. The record world champion extended his expiring contract by two years until the end of 2025. Now it has been revealed how much the Briton earns with the new working paper. His teammate George Russell makes a lot of money, but significantly less.

According to the English “Telegraph”, Lewis Hamilton’s new contract has a mega volume of an estimated 100 million pounds, which currently corresponds to around 116 million euros. According to the newspaper, he draws level with Red Bull opponent Max Verstappen.

Verstappen is also the one Hamilton has to beat in the final years of his career in Formula 1 to clinch his eighth world title. When Hamilton’s contract ends at the end of 2025, he will already be 40 years old.

George Russell, who joined Mercedes in 2022 and won a Formula 1 Grand Prix for the first time in Brazil last year, will remain his teammate for the next few years. Like Hamilton, the 25-year-old was confirmed by the racing team as a regular driver for the next two seasons.

Russell earns significantly less than Hamilton at Mercedes

The Telegraph estimates Russell’s contract at £20m a year.

Mercedes is his “home” and it feels “fantastic to continue our special relationship into 2025,” commented the Briton on signing the contract: “I look forward to continuing to build on this momentum in 2024 and 2025 when we look forward to it focus on getting back to the top.”

Meanwhile, team boss Toto Wolff was happy to keep “the strongest driver pairing in the field”. The contract extensions of the two drivers were only considered a formality, especially in the Hamilton case, the driver and team boss had expressed themselves very confidently in the past few months.
