Formula 1 mourns Tony Brooks

Formula 1 mourns the loss of former racing driver Tony Brooks. The six-time Grand Prix winner and World Championship runner-up in 1959 died at the age of 90.

The Briton was the oldest living Grand Prix winner. “He was one of those pioneers who pushed the boundaries at the great risk of their time. He will be missing,” said Formula 1 Managing Director Stefano Domenicali.

Brooks contested a total of 38 World Championship races, and he was on the podium ten times. Brooks won the German Grand Prix twice: in 1958 he won at the Nürburgring, a year later in a Ferrari at the AVUS in Berlin.
